AN OVERVIEW

Protac Insurance Brokers Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in 1972. SHDC Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of RISDA, acquired PROTAC in 1991 primarily to service effectively insurance related requirements of RISDA and its subsidiaries.

From this humble origins the Company has gone on to charter and explore potential markets. The mercurial growth in the last three years has been the result of the meticulous planning of our operations that includes very substantially the services we provide to our clients with the focus on customer satisfaction.This phenomenal growth is largely attributed to the continued commitment of the management which has developed and introduced innovative cost-effective packages with client satisfaction as the primary consideration.

The concern and anxiety anyone may face in the event of dire financial loss can and has been the driving force in clients seeking insurance covers. We take at heart this concern and ensure that our clients receive prompt and fair claims. Our personnel are qualified insurance professionals, some with more than 15 years of insurance experience with the objective of providing expert professional service to our clients.

We have established and maintained close links with Lloyds Brokers. This is necessary to circumvent the problems of inadequate capacity or the non-availability of specific covers in the local insurance market. We leave no stone unturned in our endeavour to ensure our clients receive the best possible package. Our specialists colleagues from London visit us regularly to discuss overseas placements dealing in specialised areas of insurance such as Oil & Energy, Marine, Aviation, Liabilities, Banks and Financial Institutions, which essentially involves the exploration of and placement with internationally acclaimed insurance markets.

Selected staffs are "On Call" 24 hours a day, available to travel anywhere in Malaysia immediately where and when they are wanted. Experts can also be flown in from overseas to assist us on any specific project where required.

The portfolio of risks we handle for our clients include a very wide spectrum of classes such as construction, marine hull and entry into P&I Clubs, property development, oil and energy, aviation, manufacturing, refineries, commercial property, agriculture, transport, publishing services and leisure industries. We are also insurance brokers and consultants to the Ministry of Finance.
